We’re back with another meet the team! For June, get to know all about our super talented, (and employee of the quarter!),Account Manager, Emily!
How long have you been at Prohibition? Just over four years now
What do you love most about your job? I love the variety of work that comes with the job – no two days are ever the same!
Tell us a bit about your journey to working at Prohibition. I did various work placements both in house and agency during and after university as a way to get my foot in the door. One of the placements led to me getting a full-time job with a different PR agency in Leeds, but when I saw that Prohibition was hiring, I knew I had to apply!
What’s your top tip for someone looking to get into the PR industry Proactivity is key – not just in securing yourself experience, but for making the most of the placements while you’re there. I completely believe in the phrase “don’t ask, don’t get”, so don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and ask to get involved in anything you can.
What’s your favourite social media platform and why? Instagram – I like how visual the platform is.
What do you love most about working/living up North? I’ve always been quite a city girl but London never really appealed to me – so Leeds is the perfect in-between!
What three things could you not live without? Family, friends and music.
Give us your favourite quote. “This too shall pass” – I remind myself of this whenever I need a pick-me-up.
If you could switch places with any celeb for the day – who would it be and why? Ariana Grande, purely so I could be the most incredible singer for one day.
What’s something you’re secretly (or not so secretly!) really good at/passionate about outside of work? Music – I’ve been brought up by a very musical family on both sides and I started playing instruments when I was 6 years old, so it’s something that’s always been a big part of my life.
Also, wine.
