What is video animation?

Video animation uses moving graphics, illustration or 3D instead of filmed footage. It is the best choice when you need to explain something people cannot see, such as a process, a service, data or an idea, or when filming would be too costly or slow.

Animation made around your goal

We start with what the video needs to do, such as explain, sell, recruit or educate, and where it will run. Then we design the style, script and length to suit.

How does our animation process work?

1. Discovery

We agree the goal, audience, key message and the platforms the animation will run on.

2. Concept

We pitch creative routes and a visual style, then refine one with you.

3. Script

We write a short, clear script and plan the voiceover, music and on-screen text.

4. Storyboard

We sketch every scene so you can see the flow and sign it off before animation starts.

5. Animation

Our animators build the scenes, characters and motion graphics, and add voiceover and sound.

6. Edit and deliver

We polish, add subtitles and cut versions for each platform, from 16:9 for YouTube to 9:16 for TikTok and Reels.

What animated videos do we make?

Explainer videos

Short videos that explain a product, service or process in under two minutes, for your website, sales team and social.

Product videos

Animated demos that show how a product works and why it matters, without a studio shoot.

Brand and campaign videos

Animated stories and idents that bring your brand or campaign idea to life, often alongside our video production.

Animated social content

Short, looping motion graphics built to stop the scroll. See our social content creation service.

Data and infographic animation

Research findings and statistics turned into clear animated charts, ideal for reports, white papers and LinkedIn.

Animation sits inside our creative agency, so the same team can make your TV advert, graphics and live-action film.

Why choose Prohibition for animation?

Our animation is planned with PR, social and paid media, so it gets seen. Saïd Business School’s own teams published the animations we made, and its feed engagement rose 68% with a 10% lift in website traffic. We work on single projects or ongoing content, with no long contract.

How much does video animation cost?

It depends on the length, the style (2D, motion graphics or 3D), how many scenes and characters it needs, voiceover and music, and how many versions you need. We give you a written quote after a first call.

Why are video animations important?

Video animations have become increasingly popular in recent years, and for good reason. They offer a range of benefits that make them an essential tool in the digital marketing world.

Highly engaging: They capture the attention of your audience and keep them interested in your content. Whether you’re creating a promotional video or an explainer video, animation can help bring your message to life in a way that is both visually appealing and memorable.

Versatile: They can be used for a wide range of purposes, from explaining complex concepts to showcasing products or services. They can be tailored to suit your brand’s style and tone, making them an ideal tool for building brand awareness and establishing a consistent visual identity.

Highly shareable: With social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram placing an increasing emphasis on video content, animations are the perfect way to grab attention and stand out from the crowd. By creating content that is both valuable and shareable, you can increase your reach and generate more leads for your business.

Cost-effective: Compared to live-action videos, animations require fewer resources and can be produced more quickly. This makes them a great option for businesses that want to create high-quality content without breaking the bank.

Easy to track and measure: With analytics tools such as Google Analytics, you can track how many views your video has received, how long people are watching it for, and whether they’re taking any action as a result of watching it. This data can help you refine your content strategy and make more informed decisions about how to allocate your marketing budget.

How animated videos are made?

Video animations have become an increasingly popular way to convey ideas, products, and services in an engaging and visually appealing manner. But how are they made? Well, the process of creating a video animation can differ depending on the style, length, and complexity of the animation. However, there are some general steps that are typically involved.

Firstly, it all starts with an idea or concept that needs to be conveyed through the animation. This could be anything from a simple explainer video to a complex 3D animation. Once the idea has been solidified, the next step is animation production.

This can be done using various software programs such as Adobe Illustrator, Effects, Photoshop, or even Blender for 3D animations. This involves adding motion and transitions to each scene, synchronizing the audio and visuals, and adding any voice-overs or text overlays.

Is it hard to make animation videos?

It requires a high level of creativity, scripting, technical skills, and complex tools to create a video animation. Everything from the creative storytelling, production, and sound needs to be right.

That’s why you need us! We not only have the skills in-house, but the tools and determination to turn your idea into a reality.

What is the difference between animation and video?

Animation and video are two very different mediums, each with their own unique characteristics and advantages. While both animation and video involve moving images, the way in which they are created, presented, and used is quite different.

Firstly, animation is typically created using 2D or 3D digital software, allowing for complete control over every element of the image. This means that animators can create characters, objects, and entire worlds from scratch, using advanced tools and techniques to bring them to life. Animations can be used for a wide range of purposes, from entertainment to education and advertising.

On the other hand, video is typically created by capturing real-life events using a camera or other recording device. While there is some room for editing and manipulation in post-production, the content of a video is largely determined by what happens in front of the camera. Videos can be used for a wide range of purposes as well, from documenting events to creating promotional content.

Here at Prohibition, we can combine both video and animations to incorporate even more visual elements.
