We’re back this month with another meet the team! For February, get to know all about our adventure and travel loving Account Executive – Rosie.
How long have you been at Prohibition? I started in May last year, so just over nine months now – although it feels like it’s been much longer!
What do you love most about your job? Probably a bit of a cliche answer but it definitely has to be how every day is different. I love that I have the opportunity to work on a really varied range of accounts, which means I’m constantly learning and developing new skills. Working at an integrated agency means you’re exposed to all aspects of PR on the daily – which I love!
Tell us a bit about your journey to working at Prohibition. I worked in a couple of marketing and communications roles before joining Prohibition. Before I applied for the role at PPR I was in quite a slow-paced comms job which I knew wasn’t a forever role. I began to do some PR courses in my spare time and developed a real interest for it, and knew it would be a much better fit for me and my skill set. I began the search for a PR agency in Leeds, and came across Prohibition – I haven’t looked back since!
What’s your top tip for someone looking to get into the PR industry? Work experience is definitely hugely valuable as it gives you a glimpse into the day-to-day workings of a PR agency, however I’d also say that if you’re struggling to get experience, there’s so many great ways to immerse yourself in the world of PR nowadays. Whether it’s listening to podcasts or doing online courses, it’s important to remain curious and on top of the field. PR is a constantly evolving industry, so there’s always going to be something new to learn – just go for it and don’t be afraid to get stuck in!
What’s your favourite social media platform and why? Instagram because it’s a great source of inspiration – whether its travel, home interiors, fashion or cooking, it’s also a great way to keep up to date with friends and family. TikTok isn’t far behind but equally its very addictive!
What do you love most about working/living up North? It’s got to be how close we are to so many scenic places – we’ve got the Dales and Peaks on our doorstep, and the coast isn’t too far away either.
What three things could you not live without? Family, my dog and coffee!
Give us your favourite quote. ‘Everything happens for a reason.’
If you could switch places with any celeb for the day – who would it be and why? This is really hard one, but probably Beyoncé, because, well – I’m struggling to find a reason why not!
What’s something you’re secretly (or not so secretly!) really good at/passionate about outside of work? I’m actually a really outdoorsy person and regularly venture to the Dales or Peaks for a long dog walk at the weekend. I love camping, and just generally getting out of the house and travelling / exploring. I’ve also been interrailing twice!
