2021 has got off to a great start at Prohibition; working with our long standing client, Interflora UK, we’ve launched ‘Breaking the Silence” – a campaign designed to end the stigma around loneliness and provide people with the tools to help them reach out to loved ones who might be struggling.
We recruited television personality, author, influencer and podcast host, Vicky Pattison, to front the campaign and share her own experiences with loneliness, revealing how, even with millions of followers on social media you can still feel alone.
Loneliness is a big issue right now, and our campaign research found it has increased by 300% across the country during lockdown. In fact, part of this could be down to our increasing use of social media, with people foregoing meaningful human connection in favour of likes and shares.
Vicky said a few words about her involvement in the campaign: “We need to work hard, be open with each other and check on one another regularly, if we have any hope of getting back to normal. Which is why I am so proud to be part of Interflora’s campaign to help this country come together and beat loneliness.”
As part of its campaign to tackle loneliness, Interflora is encouraging all to reach out in the ‘real world’ via their Connection Collection; a collection of flowers to send to a loved one who might be in need of support, with 10% of the profits being donated to Interflora’s campaign charity partner Samaritans, to provide support for those struggling with loneliness and other mental health issues.
This campaign really matters, and it’s not everyday we get to work on something like this.
