A social media agency for brands that need followers to become buyers
We judge it on what it does for the business. For Molarclean, TikTok Shop and conversion ads returned £1.34 for every £1 spent in the first month.
Talk to us about your social

What does a social media agency do for your brand?
It decides where your buyers spend their time, makes content they stop for, posts and replies every day, and puts paid budget behind what is working. The difference between agencies is what they count. Followers are easy to buy and easy to lose. We report on engagement, clicks, leads and sales, so you can see what your money did each month.
Recent social media work, with the numbers
RyRy Compact
A start-up car seat brand launching against big names. A parent-led feed and 96 launch assets took its following from 100 to 2,342 in five months.
Cheese Artistry UK
From 77 Instagram followers to 2,289 new ones in seven months, with an 8.9% engagement rate, led by short-form recipe video and creators.
Molarclean
We launched its TikTok, then TikTok Shop and conversion ads. Month one returned £1.34 for every £1 spent.
Interflora
Real customer stories filmed and run as paid social. More than 3.5 million people reached at a penny a click.
How Molarclean turned TikTok into a sales channel
Molarclean sells teeth whitening in a market full of cheaper rivals, on a modest budget. Its social was mostly Facebook, Instagram was patchy and TikTok untouched.
Over seven months we rebuilt its content around real people using the product, launched TikTok, then moved into TikTok Shop and conversion ads. Engagement cost £0.003 each, new fans £0.66, and the first month of conversion activity returned £1.34 for every £1 spent.
Our social media services
Most clients take three or four of these as one monthly retainer.
Strategy and audit
Who your buyers are, which platforms they use, what competitors do, and what success looks like each month. See social media strategy.
Content creation
Short-form video, photography, design and copy, made by our in-house team. See social content creation.
Community management
Daily posting, replies and moderation, so people who comment or message get an answer from someone who knows the brand.
Paid social
Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn ads, tested weekly and reported on cost per click, lead or sale. See paid social advertising.
TikTok and TikTok Shop
Channel launch, creator content and shoppable video, as we did for Molarclean. See TikTok marketing.
Creators and listening
Influencer partnerships and social listening, so you hear problems and opportunities before your competitors do.
How we choose your platforms
We start with where your buyers already spend time and buy, not with the newest app. For most consumer brands that means Instagram and TikTok, and often TikTok Shop. For B2B it is usually LinkedIn, as it is for EQUANS UK and Ireland, which has passed 2 million impressions and 9,000 new followers since January 2026. If a platform will not earn its place, we will tell you to leave it alone, and put the time into the two or three that will.
What happens in the first 90 days?
A typical start. A launch date can move it forward.
Audit
We review your channels, your competitors and your audience, and agree the numbers we will report on.
Plan and shoot
We agree the content plan and run the first shoot, so you have weeks of content ready before we post.
Launch
New content goes live with community management from day one.
Paid tests
Small paid budgets test audiences and creative, then money moves to what works.
Monthly reporting
Reach, engagement, clicks, leads and sales each month, with what we will change next.
Review
At 90 days we agree what to keep, what to drop and where to grow.
How much does a social media agency cost?
Social media usually runs as a monthly retainer, with paid ad spend on top. The fee depends on how many platforms we run, how much content we make each month, and whether community management, paid social or creators are part of it. Tell us your goals and timing, and we will come back with options at different levels.
Tell us about your brand and your goals. We will send ideas and options.
Is Prohibition the right social media agency for you?
A good fit
Consumer brands in food and drink, home, health, pets, family and leisure, and B2B brands on LinkedIn, that want social to drive sales or leads and want content made properly.
Probably not the right fit
If you want the cheapest possible daily posting, or a follower count with no plan behind it, a freelancer or a scheduling tool will cost you less. If you would rather run social in-house, our social media training may suit you better.
Why brands choose Prohibition for social
Our social, video, PR and creator teams sit together in Leeds, so the content, the paid plan and the press story come from one plan. That is how Primula’s summer campaign could pair TikTok-first creator content with 137 pieces of coverage and a Morrisons national listing.
We won CIPR Gold for Best Use of Digital and Social Media for our Fentimans work. Prohibition has won more than 45 industry awards and is rated 4.9 out of 5 from 19 reviews on Clutch. Chris Norton, our founder, wrote the CIPR’s text on social media crisis management.

Brands we run social media for

Social media agency questions we get asked
How much does a social media agency cost?
It depends on how many platforms you need, how much content we make, and whether we run paid social and community management. Most clients take a monthly retainer, and ad spend sits on top. Tell us your goals and we will come back with options at different levels.
How long before social media marketing shows results?
Paid social can produce clicks and leads in the first month: The Property Sourcing Company had 94 leads in its first month. Organic growth takes longer. RyRy Compact’s following grew 23 times over five months, and Cheese Artistry UK’s over seven.
Do you work with B2B brands as well as consumer brands?
Yes. Most of our social work is for consumer brands, but we run LinkedIn and paid social for B2B too. EQUANS UK and Ireland has passed 2 million LinkedIn impressions since January 2026, and a Fentimans LinkedIn campaign delivered 1,079 sales leads. See our B2B social media marketing page.
Do you make the content yourselves?
Yes. Our in-house video and design team shoots and edits the content, from product photography to short-form video and creator content. For RyRy Compact we art-directed the product shoot and made 96 launch assets.
Which platforms should my brand be on?
The ones your buyers actually use and buy from, not all of them. For most consumer brands that means Instagram and TikTok, often with TikTok Shop. For B2B it is usually LinkedIn. We recommend the mix after the audit, and we will tell you if a platform is not worth your time.
