How long have you been at Prohibition? I have been at Prohibition for just over 3 and a half years.
What do you love most about your job? The lovely (and crazy) people that I work with at PPR. And that old cliché ‘everyday is different’ – but it actually is. I like working in an industry that’s always coming up with new trends and is constantly evolving. As an integrated agency our projects can vary massively, one day you’ll be on set directing a brand video, the next day you’re doing a deep dive into a client’s social media channels and analysing what makes their audience tick.
Tell us a bit about your journey to working at Prohibition. I first interned at Prohibition back in 2015. I then went to do a year in industry and came back to Prohibition 2 days a week as a freelancer in my final year of university. I started full-time before I had even handed in my dissertation, but couldn’t wait to get back into the working world.
What’s your top tip for someone looking to get into the PR industry? Work experience, work experience and more work experience! Although a degree definitely helps, but you will learn so much more by actually going into an office and experiencing the day to day life of an agency. AND if you stick around long enough like I did, they have no choice but to hire you.
What’s your favourite social media platform and why? It’s got to be Instagram, because I’m nosey and like looking at everyone else’s lives.
What do you love most about working/living up North? The friendly people and the fact that Leeds isn’t too far from home on the Wirral.
What three things could you not live without? My family, group chats with my best friends and my dressing gown.
If you could switch places with any celeb for the day – who would it be and why? Kim Kardashian (yes I am that basic)
What’s something you’re secretly (or not so secretly!) really good at/passionate about outside of work? I have an unhealthy obsession with make-up and am actually a qualified MUA.
