The Yorkshire family attraction has brought us back in for Halloween, Christmas and a good deal more besides.

We are pleased to say we are working with Stockeld Park again, the Yorkshire family attraction known for going considerably further with its seasonal events than anyone strictly needs to.

We worked with the park in 2022 to launch the Playhive, one of Europe’s largest indoor playgrounds. This time we have been brought in to deliver an enhanced PR and influencer strategy, starting with Halloween and Christmas.

What we are working on

The job is to shine a light on Stockeld Park’s new Christmas attractions, and there are plenty of them. The revamped Santa’s Grotto is the biggest in Yorkshire, and alongside it sit the Festive Flying Stocksman, the ice rink, the snowflake maze and the illuminations trail the park is best known for.

The activity includes a festive launch event for press and influencers, plus a proactive media strategy aimed squarely at raising the park’s profile outside Yorkshire. That last point matters. Stockeld is genuinely well known locally, and rather less so an hour down the M1, which is where the growth is.

The campaign then carries on into the New Year with the aim of establishing Stockeld Park as a credible voice in child development and the play sector, through press releases, thought leadership and reactive commentary on everything from the importance of creative play through to the screen time debate. Seasonal attractions have a habit of going quiet in January. We would rather this one did not.

An encouraging start

We had been onboarded for a matter of days when Halloween arrived, which is not usually a recipe for a calm launch. The team still managed to secure more than 15 pieces of coverage. A good sign, and a slightly nerve-racking one.

What we said, and what they said

Chris Norton, founder of Prohibition, said:

“We are thrilled to be working with the Stockeld Park team again. The fact Stockeld is a Yorkshire based business, like ourselves, alongside their team’s commitment to creating exceptional experiences for families, makes them a perfect client for us. Despite only being onboarded for a matter of days at the time, we even managed to secure 15+ pieces of Halloween coverage and we can’t wait to help showcase Stockeld’s most impressive Christmas yet.”

Peter Grant, owner of Stockeld Park, added:

“We are delighted to be collaborating with Prohibition again. Finding a PR agency that understands our offering, and shares our passion for learning through play, is exceptionally important to us. We’re confident that our partnership will help us deliver another impressive Christmas season and a thriving 2025.”

Open all year near Wetherby, Stockeld Park runs to more than 40 acres, with the Enchanted Forest, five themed adventure playgrounds, a yew tree maze with over a mile of paths, and the indoor Playhive.

Seasonal attractions are a particular favourite of ours, because the window is short and the pressure is real. If you want to see how we approach event and launch PR, or how we combine it with media relations campaigns, do get in touch.
