The gifting group behind the UK’s most reviewed online florist has appointed us on a retained brief.

We have been appointed to support the continued growth of Prestige Gifting, the online gifting retailer whose brands include Prestige Flowers, the UK’s most reviewed online florist, alongside a gifting arm of artisan hampers, hand-crafted chocolates, fine wines and premium delicacies.

The retained relationship will see us delivering growth-focused comms support across the portfolio, helping the business own the key gifting peaks, build brand awareness and improve its search performance.

Why gifting is a harder brief than it looks

Gifting is one of those categories where the calendar does most of the talking. Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Christmas. Everyone knows when the peaks are, which means everyone is pitching the same stories in the same fortnight, and the inbox of every consumer journalist in the country looks much the same in early February.

Winning in that environment means turning up earlier than the competition with something a journalist has not already been sent nine times. It also means the quieter months are not dead air, which is where a proper always-on press office earns its keep.

What we are doing

The programme covers an always-on press office function and creative campaigns, alongside a programme of digital PR spanning thought leadership, newsjacking and product placement. The digital PR element also feeds the wider search and visibility work, because for an online retailer, coverage that carries authority is worth considerably more than coverage that simply looks nice in a report.

What we both said

Will Ockenden, director at Prohibition, said:

“We’re extremely pleased to welcome this major player to our growing portfolio of online retailers. We know the gifting market inside out and can deliver real value through our growth-focused comms approach. Not only that, but the account gives us the opportunity to deliver attention-grabbing creative campaigns that cut-through, which is the type of work we love.”

Elise Harlock, Brand Manager at Prestige, added:

“We’re delighted to be working with Prohibition. Their strategic creativity and proven track record in delivering standout, results-driven campaigns made them the perfect partner for us. We can’t wait to see the impact their ideas and energy will have on our next stage of growth.”
